Have you ever wanted to do something like check out a new restaurant or go to see a new movie, but not found anyone to go with so you stayed at home?
Doing things by yourself allows you to enjoy activities you love at your own convenience and in your own way. It helps to increase your confidence, creativity and enjoyment. Of course, it can be intimidating at first to do something on your own. Spending some quality time with yourself is good for your overall well-being and can lead you to discover new things about yourself. You may be surprised at just how much fun you’re having with just yourself for company.
I love taking my dog for a walk on my own. I find it clears my head being out in the nature, getting some fresh air and it allows me time to reflect on my day. My parents did their first mini cruise recently and my mum commented how many ‘solo’ travellers were on board! One lady my parents spoke to told them it was a ‘leap of faith’ to go on holiday on her own, but now she had done it she wondered why she hadn’t been braver sooner!
By being brave and confident enough to do things on your own allows you to grow as a person. It won’t feel so scary the next time!
Here are some tips to try this week;
Start small- take a walk or grab a coffee on your own
Positive thinking – ask yourself what is the worst thing that can happen?
