Last week was Mental Health Awareness Week and the theme this year was Anxiety. Anxiety is a normal emotion in us all and we all experience it from time to time. Lots of things can cause us to feel anxious such as our job, relationships, exam pressures, just to name a few. I tend to feel anxious most when I am in new surroundings. I am exactly the same as my Dad, we both feel it in our tummies!
Tips to help control your anxiety:
~Focus on your breathing. When you’re having anxious thoughts. Slowly breathe in and out, just concentrate on your breathing.
~Get moving. Exercise is a great way of dealing with anxiety.
~Spend time in nature. Spending time in nature has a positive impact on our mental health. Makes us feel calmer and less stressed.
~Connect with people and talk about how you feel. Spend time with friends or meet new people through local groups.
