Are friendships good for our health?

Our busy lifestyles can leave little time in our schedules to maintain these important friendships, but it is essential we invest our time wisely.

Last Saturday, I was invited to go out to celebrate a friend getting her dream job. At first I was unsure whether to go as I was working during the day, had nothing to wear and to be honest I also felt a little anxious as I had not been out in a large group since pre-covid times. My partner encouraged me to go and I’m so glad he did. Yes, it was an effort to get ready after a long day at work, but once I met up with my friends, I realised what I had been missing!

So I will make more of an effort to see my friends and work on maintaining our close friendships. Friends are a great source of support, they accept who you are and help you become who you want to be. They listen, laugh and cry with you, they are hugely important.

Friendships…

~Increase sense of belonging

~Boost happiness

~Reduce stress

~Improve self confidence and self worth

~Help you cope through the bad times

~Encourage you to be your best self

Friends are like stars.

You don’t always see them, but you know they are there!

Love, Georgia x
