More than 300 people were pampered for the Pilgrims Hospice at The Granary Spa on 11th June raising an astonishing £6,000 for the east Kent hospices.
The Granary Spa owner, Clare Singleton organised the event and invited customers to enjoy massages, manicures, reflexology and more in return for a donation to the hospice.
She said: “Over the course of the day we treated over 300 clients with spa treatments in aid of Pilgrim’s Hospice. Supporting them is very personal to me having sadly lost relatives to cancer. The atmosphere was amazing, and it was heart-warming to see such generosity from everybody involved.”
The team at The Granary Spa was supported by students from the beauty department at Canterbury College, hairdressers from Dontev in Ashford, the hospice’s own complementary therapists and local reflexologists Val and Sharon.
Clare added: “There were many volunteer teams who worked hard all day and I cannot thank them all enough.
“I could never have imagined raising this amount of money, it is more than double last year’s figure!”
The Granary team is already looking forward to the 2015 event!
